Q. Is this for real? Can we really see and touch a manatee?
A. Yes, this is very
real, and is an encounter with a wild animal in it's natural habitat.. As for touching the manatee, we allow them to interact
with us, thats the best way.(It's the law) Following all the regulations and laws, if a manatee approaches you, touching is
allowed. Touching a manatee is only allowed in Citrus County Fl.
We guarantee you will see a manatee, if you don't
see any manatees at all during your tour, you will receive a raincheck to come back and try and try again.
Q. What do we need to bring?
A. In the summer months a towel, swim suit and maybe shirt to wear after
your done swimming. In the winter months bring a jacket, hoodie and some sweat pants.
Where is this amazing encounter?
A. We are just a short drive from the Tampa and Orlando area. We are located in Citrus County Florida, the
only place in the USA to have this in water encounter. It's different than the theme parks. Do Something Real Today
Q. Are there
No, anyone can do this, all ages welcome. This is very easy, you just float on the surface and relax. All passengers under
the age of 18 must have a guardian or parent on the boat. The parent or guardian also counts as a passenger even if just riding
on the boat, please inlcude all passengers when booking.
Q. Can I just ride on the boat and watch my kids and family?
A. Absolutley; bubble watchers, (Parents,
Guadians and Friends) are still counted towards the boats maximum of 6 passengers, (USCG regulations) on our 13
Q. Are their big waves?
A. No, this swim with the manatee program is in a
River where there are no waves, and all in fresh, shallow water.
Q. What kind
of boats do you use?
We use Coast Guard inspected pontoon boats. These boats are rated for up to 12 passengers but we only allow 6 passengers for
your comfort and the manatees protection. If you have more than six in your party, just call and we can make arrangements
for your larger group to be swimming together.
Q. Can we take pictures?
A. Absolutely, we encourage
you to bring your cameras. In fact if you don't have a camera we can rent you a nice underwater digital camera and you can
use your own SD memory card, or you may purchase a underwater, one time use camera.
cold is it in the winter time?
A. Funny you should ask, it does get a little chilly but the water is 72 degrees year round. Sometimes in
the winter the water feels like a luke warm bath.
Q. What other wildlife
might we see?
We have a chance to see tons of other wildlife such as; Dolphins, American Bald Eagles, River Otters, Osprey, and many different
species fo birds.
